Lighthouse Hostel

A sweet end to our day- the Montara Lighthouse Hostel. We didn't
exactly have a time schedule, but the walking up a few big hills made
for a bit slower going than we had planned, and we rolled in just in
time to watch the sun set. The Devils Slide section of road was
everything we'd heard it to be- steep, windy, and lacking in shoulder
for quite a bit of it. The walk up the hill to it was NOT a highlight
if the day, but the ride down into Montara was amazing! The cliffs
over the ocean, and rocky outcroppings off the coast are beautiful and
as southbound bikers we were one small concrete guard rail away from
them (don't worry mom, it's pretty safe). Tomorrow morning we'll post
a picture looking back over the descent from the hostel. For tonight
it's pizza and a cupcake from some other hostelers celebrating a
birthday- yum!
